In 2020, I oversaw the production of a sizzle video for the Microsoft Teams Walkie Talkie app in collaboration with Samsung’s Galaxy XCover Pro. As a Post-production Supervisor on the Microsoft 365 Studio team, this project presented unique challenges due to the need for seamless partnership between Microsoft and Samsung.

• Project Coordination: This project required intricate coordination across multiple teams from both Microsoft and Samsung. The goal was to highlight how the Walkie Talkie app in Microsoft Teams transforms collaboration by bringing people and information into one secure, shared workspace, and how the Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro enhances this experience with its dedicated hotkey button for instant communication.
• Narrative Development: The video narrative was designed to showcase the synergy between the Walkie Talkie app and the Galaxy XCover Pro. We emphasized features such as the external XCover key that can be programmed to access the Walkie Talkie channel, even when the device is locked, and the robust security ensured by Samsung Knox and Microsoft’s enterprise-grade cloud security.
• Technical Excellence and Creative Execution: Initially, we considered filming some scenes, but as the country was going into quarantine due to the pandemic, we pivoted to using 3D renders. I collaborated with Rational, an external studio, to craft the 3D renders of the Samsung phone, providing numerous rounds of feedback to perfect the renders. For the 2D animations and editing, I directed and provided feedback to my internal motion designer to ensure coherence and quality. Additionally, we were provided with video clips from Samsung, which we had to seamlessly integrate into the final video.
• Highlighting Features: The video showcased the Galaxy XCover Pro's durability, long-lasting removable battery, and pogo pins for drop-in chargers, demonstrating the device’s suitability for various challenging environments. We also highlighted its resistance to drops, vibration, water, dust, and extreme temperatures.

My role involved supervising the post-production process to ensure the final video met the highest standards of quality. This included overseeing the editing, motion graphics, and sound design to create a cohesive and engaging sizzle video that effectively communicated the benefits of using Microsoft Teams Walkie Talkie on the Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro.

The collaboration between Microsoft and Samsung demonstrated how technology can simplify and enhance communication, making it easier for workers to stay connected, whether they are across the room or across the globe.
