CG Artist
In 2012, I worked on a music video for The Angelus with director Jake Wilganowski. My role was creating all of the artificial rain, which meant building an effect that could do more than just look convincing. It had to help carry the mood of the piece.
Jake brought me onto set after seeing some early Blender tests, so I could make sure the CG work lined up with the way the footage was being shot. That part mattered. The rain needed to feel like it belonged in the scene from the start, not like something added after the fact.
Once filming wrapped, I spent several weeks refining the effect in post. Small adjustments to density, timing, and how the rain sat in the frame made a big difference. By the end, it was doing real atmospheric work for the video instead of just filling the background.
- Created all artificial rain for the music video and carried the effect through final post.
- Joined the shoot with Jake Wilganowski to help the CG work integrate cleanly with the live-action footage.
- Refined the rain over several weeks so it supported the tone of the piece without calling attention to itself.
