Director, Producer, Editor & DP
Alcon had teams spread across regions, and the usual training model meant travel, scheduling headaches, and a lot of wasted time. During my time there, I built a live remote meeting format that let us run polished training sessions from the studio and send them anywhere with a laptop.
It started with the Tricaster. We were already using it for on-location shoots, but once I got comfortable cutting live, I realized we could intercept Skype feeds, mix multiple cameras, and send out an edited program in real time. That turned a basic remote call into something much closer to a broadcast.
The shift saved Alcon more than $10,000 per call and made the sessions better for the audience too. Teams could watch pre-recorded material while they waited, send questions in ahead of time, and get live equipment demos with answers in the moment.
