UI Production Director
In 2022 I was tasked with leading the creation of UI animations for the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 sizzle video. In my role, I oversaw a talented team of animators who brought the UI screens to life. I provided guidance and direction as needed, and ensured that the team was on track to deliver high-quality work that met the standards set by Microsoft.
During the production shoot, I served as a valuable resource for the talent, advising them on how to interact with the device in a way that would look natural on camera. I also managed the distribution of devices across different filming locations, ensuring that everything was properly set up and ready for the cameras to roll.
The filming locations for this project included the Block 41 meeting space and Seattle Tacoma International Airport, which presented unique challenges that I could overcome through careful planning and effective communication with the production team. The final product was a polished and visually impressive video that accurately showcased the capabilities of the Surface Pro 9.
Overall, my contributions to the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 sizzle video project were significant, and I am proud of the results. I am confident in my ability to lead and manage UI animation projects of this scale and complexity. I look forward to future opportunities to showcase my skills and expertise.

The production process for this video involved several crucial stages, starting with the creation of storyboards and an animatic to establish the overall vision for the project. These initial steps were crucial in ensuring that all stakeholders clearly understood the project expectations. The subsequent phase involved live-action filming, where tracking screens were utilized to capture the scenes, allowing for accurate tracking of UI elements and matching them with the talent's interactions with the device. As the UI Director, I ensured that the UI elements were correctly tracked and matched with the talent's actions, presenting a seamless and believable final product. The final video was then refined by the compositing team, who added the finishing touches to the project and brought it to life.
