Live Ballot was a website widget, so the challenge was making something small and functional feel clear in just a few seconds. In 2018, I worked with Splainers Inc. on an explainer built to show how supporters could view, share, and endorse candidates directly from a site.
I partnered with Paige Nagel on the artwork, and we leaned into an illustrative character style that gave the piece more personality than a straight UI demo would have. From there, I animated the full video, using fluid character motion and simple interactive beats to make the widget feel approachable and easy to use.
The end result was a short explainer that kept the product story simple without flattening it into product copy.
