Post-production Supervisor
Modern Workplace is a Microsoft web series about how work is changing, so the 2020 season needed an intro package that could carry that idea without feeling generic. I worked with Ranger & Fox on an updated show package built around a shifting surface that rotated, slid, and revealed new information as the sequence moved forward.
My role was to help guide the package from the early concept stage into production. That included giving direction, shaping the story through boards and motion studies, and making sure the system could work both as a full-screen opener and as a quieter graphic layer behind the footage.
- Storyboards: Started with a preliminary storyboard to define the surface idea, then worked with Ranger & Fox as they revised and sharpened the visual language.
- Animatics: Built a boardomatic to test timing, reveals, and how the motion system would carry the sequence.
- Test animations: Used work-in-progress motion passes to tune the pace and energy before the full toolkit was finalized.

As the Post-Production Supervisor, I provided direction and production support throughout the project. Below are some of the key elements created during the production process:
Storyboards:
- Concept Visualization: Collaborated with the team to develop detailed storyboards that visualized the evolving surface concept, ensuring alignment with the transformative theme.
Preliminary Storyboard by Patrick Flaherty
Revised Storyboard by Ranger & Fox
Boardomatic
Created animatics to map out the dynamic movements of the surface, facilitating a smooth transition from static storyboards to animated sequences.
Work In Progress
Refinement and Iteration: Oversaw the creation of test animations, allowing the team to refine the movement and energy of the surface before final production.
These elements were crucial in developing the updated intro sequence, ensuring it effectively captured the spirit of transformation and innovation central to the Modern Workplace series. The collaborative effort resulted in a visually compelling and thematically resonant introduction that set the tone for the season.
